To construct the lighting elements for these costumes the Costume designer first specified she wanted to use LED tape as the lighting source for the water and earth fairies. She marked where in the bodices and skirts she wanted them, and I cut lengths of tape to match. In order to protect the LEDs from the performer's sweat, and additional to give them a material to attach to the costumes we inserted the LEDs into lengths of clear flexible tubing and sealed the tape inside with electrical tape. Once the tubing was sewn into the costumes, wires were run to packs worn by the performers, and connected to a power supply and RC4 wireless dimmer.
